Evengelical United Brethren Church

in 1968, a merger between the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church was completed and the two became the United Methodist Church. The local Evangelical United Brethren Church voted to take the name Trinity United Methodist Church but was still worshipping in their same location.

a fire of electrical origin caused extensive damage to the church on June 18th 1985. For the next year worship Services were held in thetree of Life synagogue. The Reconstruction cost was close to half-a-million Dollars. However one year later on June 22nd 1986, the congregation was back in their beautifully rebuilt sanctuary and building.

Wesley Methodist Church

the circuit preachers are rods in helltown later known as Mount Pleasant in 1784 and the first regular meeting place for the Methodist was the Miller home on East Main Street. Beginning in 1811. A little later the Rupert building was used for a few years. The Methodist Episcopal church later Wesley United Methodist on Main Street was purchased from and Jane Anderson for $600 and the church was built at the cost of $4,000 in 1856. The first remodeling was done in 1892, and the installation of a bell in tower stained glass windows.

the Bohemian mission was a branch of the coke division and was organized in 1898. The the mission was a four-wheeler and brookschool building on North shoop Street. Up until 1929 the Methodist conference maintain the Bohemian mission. In that year was combined with the First Methodist Church. The Wesley Methodist in the Trinity churches in Mount Pleasant merged become to become the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant in 1968.

The congregation serve the community in the united prayer for peace January 22nd 1991 during the gulf war crisis and continues to pray for peace during these trying worldwide times.

The United Methodist Church of Mount Pleasant

on July one 1990, the merger of the Trinity United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church was effective the merge congregation is known as the United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant and is worshipping in the former Trinity United Methodist Church or EU be building. The community involvement of the church includes the salvation Army red kettle collections, Meals on wheels, local food Bank, Mount Pleasant – Scottdale crop walk, operation Santa Claus, and the local clothes closet.
